Sato helps with translations and communications. Fortunately none of the scratches caused problems when the discs were played. Then again, I had an inkling having sat through four seasons of Star Trek: The Next Generation. For its 4 th and final season, in order to save costs and keep up with the changing landscape of television production, Enterprise switched over to the Sony CineAlta digital camera, which shot a native 1080p image with an aspect ratio of 1. Behind the Camera: Marvin Rush 16 min. That willingness to explore social issues in depth was a hallmark of the very first Star Trek series and it continues to be one of the most important features of all the movies and spin-offs that followed the original. If it had come out like this, it would have easily reached a seventh season like the three previous Star Trek series directly before it.
After that team got split up to rule over the Trek Empire split into Western and Eastern halves, if you will, both halves suffered. Yes, it sucked… but the worst episode of Star Trek? Even more attractive than the prospect of a new Star Trek itself, was the prospect of its new captain, Jonathan Archer. There are moments of either a unique sound or good ambiance in episodes from time to time. Here we got a new crew, a great captain you rule Bakula! The upscaled presentation manages to provide a number of surprises through the season with many shots coming out with a stunning level of quality and detail that I would have thought impossible given the source material. Dominic Keating as Malcom Reed and Anthony Montgomery as Travis Mayweather — Vox Sola — Enterprise Suggested episodes to cherry pick. Bakula and Coto praise working with Spiner.
Its a pretty good price to own it all at, even if the packaging is a compacted brick of Trek. It works exceptionally well on this set and I can only hope that the team organize a follow up of some form in the future. Season 1: Audio Commentaries are provided on episodes Broken Bow, Silent Enemy, Shadows of P'Jem, and Shuttlepod One. Perhaps more distracting to me was the drop in image quality when a shot involves blue-screen work. These shots have also been upconverted and result in a somewhat blurred look to the presentation which contrasts with the crisp, sharp 1080p image that you become accustomed to seeing. Star Trek: Enterprise has impressive production values with strong special effects, set designs, costumes, and other factors relevant to the behind-the-scenes development.
February 10th, 2017 by Brandon Peters Hey Trekkies! Goodman, Chris Black, Phyllis Strong, and Judith and Garfield Reeves-Stevens. The show features a pretty fun cast, solid adventures and a kind of fresh spin on the Trek universe. Star Trek Enterprise or simply Enterprise is of course the one show of the franchise in recent memory to be cancelled. Everything considered, it was a great season given some of the trials that Enterprise went through during its production. The series isn't quite as crisp as some other modern television productions, but it does have strong depth and overall clarity on this high-definition release.
A failure of the network to competently promote the show is what first occurred to me as well. The first season delivers it in all its messiness, its daring and its ultimate success… and ten years on, it looks surprisingly good for its age. Almost feels a relic of the early 90s and coming in the early 2000s. Most fans would agree the rot set in with Voyager and that Enterprise probably even did better than that show. I still think the prequel concept was and still is the way to go. There are a number of episodes featuring the Reptilians, the Romulans, and other staples in the canon are explored further such as the Tellarites and Andorians.
After 10+ years of the same Trek aesthetic, it changed things up. So awful, that it may never see the light of day again, in fear that I may destroy it on accident. As such makes for a good rewatch for those fans who have already seen the show. A failure of the network to competently promote the show is what first occurred to me as well. The transfer is solid and so is the audio. As the show progressed they allowed the T'Pol character more freedom and Blalock had an opportunity to show off her considerable acting chops.
I watched all the video and these were the only defects on my disks. Propel your imagination farther and faster than before with an ever-expanding universe of captivating characters, interstellar intrigue, and adventures that will come to define the very essence of Starfleet. It vanished four years after it arrived, the shortest-running series since the original. The image quality is rather grainy, especially in comparison to the remastered Next Generation sets out there. Disinvited — April 29, 2014 Seems to me you are describing keeping the same number of workers but increasing their individual workloads.
Select audio and text commentaries are also included. Vocals are crisp and solid, no distortion is present in the least. Archer is the key to the Enterprise's continuing successes. No, I had no insight on the character and who he would be. Still, Star Trek: Enterprise looks good overall and having it on Blu-ray gives fans the best presentation available.
