Least impressed by the existing boxers in Chennai, an intrepid fisher-woman Madhie Ritika Singh , who accompanies her boxer sister Lux Mumtaz Sorcar for training grabs the attention of Prabhu. Rigor and rebellion, structure and free spirit collide. Instead he languished in a nightmare for a decade as his gloves were spiked during an all-important match, blinding him in the arena and handing the match to his undeserving opponenta mediocre boxer but a political powerhouse. Surely it will be the another milestone for Madhavan. Adi spots in her a champion that could bring India the gold that he was robbed of.
But Adi continues to dream, this time for a free-spirited, fiery young woman from the fishing community, Madhi. Can Madhi triumph against all the odds against her? Prabhu feels that she is a naturally gifted boxer and even pays 500 bucks a day so that she undergoes training. In some situation we feel goosebumps. But first Adi must earn her trust, then tame her impetuosity and finally make her dream all this in just nine months before the world championship. Adi Tomar had a dream to win the boxing gold for India. The culprit was his own coach, Dev Khatri. It's also a story about sibling rivalry. However with 'Irudhi Suttru' Sudha Kongara takes the viewer completely by surprise with her sports drama riding on a love story told in a raw manner which makes for a pleasurable and emotionally moving viewing experience. We see a lot of red in boxing dramas, but here we also see bits of Grey. It is the beginning of a beautiful friendship and a journey towards an impossible dream.

Written by Iruthi Sutru Saala Khadoos Whenever we come across a film directed by a woman which is few and far between , we tend to have preconceived notions that it would either be a mouthpiece for their gender's domination or a soft mushy romance story. An under-fire boxing coach, Prabhu is transferred from Hisar in Haryana to Chennai as his bosses at the Boxing Council do not like his disrespectful rule-breaking unconventional ways. At one point of time, Madhie falls in love with Prabhu and loses a qualifier, which in turn irks the latter and he sends her back to home. And so begins an uneasy partnership between a man who loves his sport and a girl who loves her freedom.
His outspoken honesty sends jitters through his old adversaries, and he is soon transferred to Chennaithe Siberia of Indian boxing. In Chennai, he chances upon the raw fighting talent of Madhi, the sibling of aspiring boxer Lakshmi. Shattered by his loss, and disillusioned by the state of Indian boxing, Adi turned to a life of cynical self-destructionbooze, brothels and bar-fights. It isn't just Million Dollar Baby. Loyal friends somehow bring him back to boxing as the coach of the lowly rated Indian womens boxing team.
