The Kraken coming up with glowing eyes was so ominous, and then the actual fight happened and built up the intensity and it seemed fun how they were going to have a rhythm battle. The dancing-finale was childish, and I'm not used to see a totally childish scene in this franchise. Kids go for the familiar faces, repeated jokes, and comfortable world they feel they know. The middle was This movie is great. Other than Quasimodo in the first movie, just some chef.
They all loved it too. Not that there aren't jokes for adults, too; a funny subplot about overwhelmed werewolf couple Wayne and Wanda marveling at the fact the cruise has a kids' club where they can drop off their dozens of boisterous cubs is aimed squarely at parents. I definitely had a better time watching this than the previous movie, mostly because they tried so hard to focus on Davis and well they didn't make a good job, resulting in him being boring. In the film, Dracula finds love with a ship captain named Ericka Van Helsing while on a vacation on a cruise with his family and friends, but Mavis discovers that Ericka is actually the great-granddaughter of Abraham Van Helsing, Dracula's arch-enemy. Makes no sense and will likely be just the latest reason this franchise ends right here. Director and animation veteran Gendy Tartakovsky, ups his game with his unique style of distinctive animation and fluidity of movement. It's also way less funny than its two predecessors which, for me, means the weakest one. What does the film have to say about love? Give it a shot: it's not Oscar worthy but it's just a fun, harmless flick that anyone can watch. Rather than have a shoehorned in villain who appears briefly and feels more like an afterthought, we finally have villains who appear throughout and are actually vital to the plot.
Again a very old-school cartoon-style. There is some depth that was given to the characters of Dracula and Mavis, and their father-daughter relationship that also served the plot. Colorfully vivid, and madly fast-paced, Summer Vacation is the most visually pleasing and creative installment in the franchise. The rest of Drac's Pack cannot resist going along and once they leave port, romance zings Drac when he meets the mysterious ship captain Ericka. They just had more fun with its set pieces and characters.

What disappointed me the most is that it's the first time that I found the interjected humorous scenes that distinguish this franchise very annoying, and completely useless. Honestly I can't say I agree that sony animation is good, but thats just me. What role does play in the story? Misinterpreting this as stress from overwork, Mavis books a cruise so they can all take a break and spend more time together as a family. I'd probably give it 3 if I were an adult. We saw this movie today and I was pleasantly surprised. But the dream vacation turns into a nightmare when Mavis realizes Drac has fallen for the mysterious captain of the ship, Ericka, who hides a dangerous secret that could destroy all of monsterkind.
Sadly, most of the gags fall flat. Like playing volleyball and scuba diving. This time it was Dennis' cute monster-sized puppy, Tinkles, or should I say Bob, that did this job, kinda! They are long scenes that look as epic as silly! For us this was the favourite of the three. Parents want to laugh, too! I reckon this is the most tame of the 3, and the most enjoyable. Sony's also back trying to make us think that this movie isn't completely unnecessary.
I sat through the previews though. Fantastic themes - I loved how the main theme was about accepting others who are different to us. Also, we have seen billions of animated films that deliver the same message. Nonetheless, Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation is another one of those sequels that is just unnecessary to the people who would expect more from this franchise. He falls for Ericka even though she's human and is willing to overlook her past and ancestry. The movie, nevertheless, doesn't look good just for the sake of it. From the Bermuda Triangle to Atlantis, the visuals are bright, colorful, and unique.
Overall this film isn't bad but if you give us another one please don't make it about some sort of dumb trope we've seen a thousand times before. . The thing that made this scene, besides some other scenes most of them at the final act, so special is the mix between music and action. However the Kraken left my 7,5 yo son in tears, grabbing to my arm, closing his eyes shut and asking to leave the cinema. Is this monster movie even scary? But most people wouldnt be bothered by this I'm just a little old fashion in how we teach our kids to respect woman, other than that not as good as the first 2.
